I am a new Ph.D. student in a new distance program.  I am one of 7 women who are enrolled at Emporia State University.  We spent 3 days together in Emporia, Kansas learning about the program in an orientation program and now are working together online using Horizon Wimba and other tools to attend our three credit classes and complete our class work.

 I am taking Research Philosophy and Qualitative Research Methods this semester.  I have already learned quite a bit about designing research and collecting data.  It is a great help to me on the job with evidence-based practice and being a member of the nursing research council.
