I am working on getting the Spring meeting program ready for May 8, 2009 in Twin Falls. The program agenda has been set and is available on this site in the Spring 2009 CITATION. Thanks to Pam and Jean for contributing ideas.
I sent out a broadcast on the PNCMLA Listserv to see if I can arrange an expert to connect with us by phone to answer our nuts and bolts questions about how libraries are using electronic journals and books. I have a list of questions that I will send the presenter, and we will phone them for a session of the meeting. It will not involve a sales pitch on any product, just the issues that are important to consider if you think electronic resources will improve services to your patrons and want to know more before you spend your dollars for a new product. I hope I get a volunteer! Alison Aldridge sent me a name that I contacted as well. Hopefully the speaker will be set next week.
Also I need more volunteers to share their gold standard searches. We are all experts in some types of searches, at least to our patrons. They give us the questions that they already tried to find answers to, but could not really find what they needed. How did you find the elusive information? Sandy Hight is going to share, I have one trick to show, but I think there is plenty of time for more, so look back in your log or where ever you save hints for yourself and plan to share them with the rest of us. It need not be limited to PubMed or CINAHL searching. Where else are you finding things?
